Lee Bishops  EscortHaving just recieved my email about neil fletchers contribution to octane magazine, i thought i'd let you know my own little unassuming mk1 escort is featured in this months 'Classic Ford' magazine.Whilst it may look pretty plain and simple, it is in fact one of the 883 Escort Twincam's built  from 1968 -1971 to allow FORD to enter the mk1 escort for circuit racing and rallying of the period. It is one of just 65 remaining cars on the AVO club register. Ive owned the car since april 2010 and carried out a full restoration finishing in march 2013, i MOT'd the car on march 30th this year and did as many miles as possible before taking the car to france the first weekend in may on the classic ford magazine annual continental trip. We covered nearly 900 miles in four days which is quite an undertaking for a car which was only completed 5 weeks beforehand. The trip was event free and thoroughly enjoyable, i am about to book the 2014 trip to leuven, Belgium in may 2014. Ive included pics of my current article which should be readable on a decent sized computer screen.Coupled with Neil Fletchers letter in Octane Magazine, whereby he tries to justify his driving of my Cobra at Spa last year, well done guys.
